Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept:

Cash, Checks/Money Orders, All major debit/credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, etc), Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay.

Q: What do I need to bring/take to my appointment to be ready to file my taxes?

A: We created a helpful guide with this information. You can access it down below (Income Tax Preparation Checklist).

Q: How much do you charge to file/prepare my taxes?

A: It depends... mostly on the time and work required to complete.

Most individual tax returns with only W-2 forms or simple tax returns will be between $100 to $150.

Tax returns with 1099s, Cash, Self-Employed/Small Business income and those requiring a Schedule C will generally be between $150 and $300.

More complex tax returns involving multiple forms, schedules, states, businesses/sources of income, processes and calculations may have a higher price.

***These are only general price ranges, if you would an exact price, we would need to examine/consider your particular situation including: tax forms, tax schedules, source(s) of income, number of states, etc. We always strive to offer very reasonable and affordable prices.

Q: When is payment due and can you charge your services from my tax refund?

A: Payment for all services is due at the time of service.

If you are scheduled/going to receive a tax refund, we may be able to charge our services from your tax refund. Although we have this option, we rather you do not use it since there are additional third party fees (bank, processing, etc). All tax preparers have them, it is just that sometimes they do not tell you and include it in the price. Even though we do not charge extra for using this option the third party companies and banks do have fees/charges that will be added the cost of the service. That is why we prefer you pay using one of our acceptable payment methods since we really want you to keep more of your money. We are always willing to work with you and be as transparent as possible.

Q: I do not live in Colorado or I lived and worked in multiple states can you still do my taxes?

A: Yes! We can still file/prepare your taxes even if you do not live in Colorado. We have several secure options to work with you.

Also, if you lived and worked in several states, we can file/prepare your taxes.

Q: What years of taxes can you help me with and when can I file my tax return?

A: Currently, our office can help you file/prepare any income tax return from 2016 to 2022. This includes amended tax returns. E-filing may not be available for all years particularly those whose deadline has passed.

Our office is open year-round and you can technically file a tax return at any time. The IRS generally starts accepting electronic (e-filed) returns at the end of January for current year tax returns. The IRS gives taxpayers until April 18 to file their current year tax return and pay any balance owed to be considered on time and avoid any potential penalties, interest and fees. If you miss the April 18 deadline you can still electronically file (e-file) your current year taxes until October 16. After that date, you can only prepare and mail your return via paper forms. In other words, even though you can still file previous years taxes, they will have to be printed and mailed to the IRS and state department of revenue to get processed.

Q: Do I need an appointment or do you take walk-ins?

A: Most of the time an appointment is required and recommended to make sure we can provide you the personalized attention you deserve but also to make sure that someone is available and at the office to help you. We may be able to help you without an appointment depending on the availability and type of service you need. When in doubt call before you come in.

Q: What certifications, licenses and authorizations does your office have?

A: Great question, we commend you on doing your research and verifying your professional's credentials.
